HGTV (Home and Garden Television) has selected Steve Ramos as the "House Detective"

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE, Santa Rosa, California, March 28, 2005
The popular television show “The House Detective” has selected Steve Ramos of Envirovue Home Inspection based in Windsor, CA as their “House Detective” for the next 52 episodes. This represents three years of television programming.
“I consider it a very special honor to represent a fine program and network (HGTV & "The House Detective”) that is dedicated to educating their viewers about home ownership. I consider myself an educator at heart. Although, my primary objective as an inspector is to report on the condition, I find that most home buyers and sellers want an education about what they are buying or improving.”
The program is filmed live and edited in the studio. That means that the events that are recorded are NOT scripted, they are captured as they would be during an actual home inspection. The episodes will air in the winter of 2005 as part of a launch that intends to extend the format of the program to include a repairs segment. This additional segment will include information about how to repair some of the defects uncovered.
As for the opportunity to inspect for a television program, Steve’s thoughts are “In the short-term, I have no plans of making it a career. I like my quiet little home-based home inspection business. I like being close to my family and spending time with my wife and children. “
Despite all of his recent successes, Steve still has regular openings in his inspection calendar. “I try not to book myself too solid. Most of my loyal clients like that fact that they can get a home inspection appointment for themselves or a client within a few days”.
